CTM Equipment LTD are the leading UK specialists in polyurethane metering machinery. Our core business focus is to provide efficient production solutions through the supply of process equipment, technical service and spare parts.
As UK agents for Cannon Afros Polyurethane (Italy) and Polytec EMC (Austria) we are able to provide a vast range of machinery for most processes straight from stock. We also manufacture specialist machinery in-house, and have significant expertise in processing filled material, epoxy resin and elastomers.

The Cannon Network -
Undoubtedly the powerhouse of Polyurethane, Cannon is the world’s largest plastics processing technology group. Their continued investment in R&D allows us to grow with these new developments and offer their products at a competitive rate.
Polytec EMC -
Our relationship with Polytec EMC allows us to support all Spritz and Polytec equipment locally in the UK. We also supply foam spray equipment and static mixing technologies for less versatile processes.
Hitema Chillers -
The name Hitema is synonymous in Italy with quality temperature control equipment which is compact, cost effective and economical. Their ESE (Ecology Safe Energy) chillers can save up to 50% of energy consumption in comparison to other leading models.
Duemas Technology -
Duemas Technology design and manufacture ultra competitive discontinuous sandwich panel presses for the Structurally Insulated Panels market (SIPs). We have recently developed a range of packages with Duemas consisting of a metering unit and panel press allowing for affordable processing solutions at all output levels. Engineering Expertise
CTM have twenty years experience in repairing polyurethane machinery and the largest team of specialist engineers in the UK. We offer various services to aid our customer’s production, these include:
Onsite technical service support –
Since the beginning, technical service has always been our number one priority. Our maintenance procedures undertaken by experienced engineers will ensure your machine will run at optimum efficiency with minimum wastage. We also offer monthly stage payments to help keep your operating costs down.
Onsite production and maintenance training –
We are firm believers in empowering our customers to maintain their machines. Benefits of routine maintenance include extended mechanical life, lower waste and higher quality products.
Machine rebuild –
As a result of their age, use or damage, it is sometimes more cost effective to take a machine ‘in-house’ to be rebuilt. CTM have considerable experience in this area and customer’s expectations are always exceeded.
Machine modification –
We understand that the changing business environment may require you to run new processes on different machinery. CTM are able to help reduce the cost of transition by modifying your existing machine.
Project development assistance –
Some people are new to Polyurethane and so need a helping hand - not a problem, others may be running a new process or just some expert advice. Whatever your experience level we are here to assist you in producing the highest quality parts.

Polyurethane Machinery and Spare Parts Delivery
We understand how critical timing can be when you need to increase production. To help, CTM stock Cannon low and high pressure metering units for almost all applications. Ranging from 7kg/min up to 100kg/min, these machines can be put into production to meet the most demanding of needs. Machinery can be delivered and installed in under a week to match your material specification.
CTM also stock a range of used machinery. These are refurbished up to the highest standard, and come with a one year parts and labour guarantee.
Spares –
We stock a range of spare parts for all the major Polyurethane metering unit manufacturers. We also keep on-stock all known 12cc and 28cc Rexroth Hydromatic pump configurations. Via our service exchange program we supply as-new pumps for a reduced cost.
All goods are available for same day or next day despatch and come with a one year warranty.

CTM also provides our customers with next day pump repairs on the following pumps:
Anar, Viking, Sam Hydraulic, Kracht, Rexroth, RHL and Beinlich

Breakdown Response
CTM is based at the heart of England in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Our central location enables us to attend site within a three hour radius of most major towns and cities.
We have six employed engineers operating from our Head Office. Our workforce is trained to the highest level of engineering and electrical standards on all major brands of polyurethane equipment. We also have in-house PLC programming and software development team experienced in Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron and Allen Bradley.
Our pledge
We understand that the cost of being out of production due to a breakdown can be very expensive. To help our customers, we are introducing a next day response offer. If we cannot resolve the issue remotely then our engineer will attend site the following day. (Calls must be received before 12.30pm to ensure engineer availability).

At CTM we have significant experience developing tailored solutions to processing problems. We offer an expert consultancy service to discuss your requirements and develop an individual system specification that best serves your needs.
All our units come with full-time ‘closed-loop flow’, ratio control and data capture systems as standard.
We are proud to hold two international patents for innovative process technologies. As a result of past experiences our expertise lies in the following areas (See case studies for more information):

Case Study 1:
Our customer required epoxy foam filling inside of a cabinet which contains electrical components. Normally epoxy is processed at a high temperature and when mixed can reach heights of over 200 degrees which was a problem for our customer. This was because there was a great risk of damage to the internal electrical components if they were exposed to excessive heat.
CTMs solution was to process the material as cold as possible so to reduce the exothermic reaction to a minimum. Unfortunately this would mean the material would be as thick as syrup and very hard to mix. An alternative mixing technique was suggested, a proposal made and contract won.
Due to the success of this project we are now considered global leaders in this field of epoxy high pressure mixing.
Case Study 2:
Our customer was looking for a machine capable of producing a bend stiffener for use in the offshore oil and gas industry. Looking to process 2,000kg a minute, ten times the size of the largest machines available, CTM were contacted to build a bespoke unit. We faced many issues building a machine to this specification including the complication of moving large volumes of material at high velocity. We also managed to significantly reduce the amount of turbulence into the system which if present would create a fault in the mould.
This machine included the first CTM data-capture system enabling monitoring during the pouring and curing process. As our customer needed to know exactly how the bend stiffener is made in order to provide quality assurance we designed analysis software specifically for their needs. In late 2009 this machine made the world’s largest bend stiffener at 5,300kg. |
